The World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH) exists because we believe—as do you—that where you live should never determine your access to care. Every day we work to provide our global community needed support and resources.
It’s no secret that this year has been unlike any other. We have all faced challenges we couldn’t have imagined a short time ago. The strength of the global bleeding disorders community lies in our resilience and in our solidarity—and this time is no different.
From our Virtual Summit in June—which was our highest attended event ever—to our first-ever Global Summit on Women and Girls with Bleeding Disorders, we have found ways to come together to share our knowledge and experiences and elevate the voices of patients around the world.
Our national members organizations (NMOs) are our backbone, doing whatever possible to meet the needs of patients. We have a responsibility to help them continue delivering life-changing programs and services.
Back in June, we launched the Compassion to Action campaign to ensure our community’s needs are being met, both in terms of dealing with the pandemic and in terms of continuing to work towards long-term sustainability. Many have risen to the challenge to show their solidarity, but our work is not done. Our community still needs us—and we need you.
We are finding new ways to support our patient organizations and treatment centres in this new global reality: for example, by funding access to online training and making sure treatment gets where it’s most needed, despite travel restrictions and border closures.
Your support can help the WFH supply factor to even the most remote areas, so patients can avoid travelling for hours to access treatment.
Your support can provide our patient leaders and care providers the computers, internet services and, in some cases, even the electricity needed to access the virtual trainings that are so vital to patient care.
More than ever, we need to stand together. Please take action to support our community. Regardless of how much you decide to give, your support matters. Together we can make a lasting impact. Please give today at give.wfh.org.
