GAP Memorandum of Understanding signed in Republic of Uzbekistan

On April 19th 2019, during the International Conference “Modern Aspects of Hematology and Transfusion Medicine” in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, the World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH) and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) within the framework of the Global Alliance for Progress (GAP) Program. The main objectives of the GAP program in Uzbekistan are to strengthen the multi-disciplinary comprehensive medical expertise in the diagnosis, treatment and care of hemophilia and other inherited rare bleeding disorders in the country, establish two additional Hemophilia Treatment Centers in the regions, provide expert assistance in the creation of National Hemophilia Committee and Program, support the regional outreach activities of the Tashkent Society of Patients with Hemophilia—a WFH national member organization (NMO)—and guide the development of a national data collection and analysis system to properly monitor health outcomes. The WFH will complement the implementation of the GAP program in Uzbekistan with the donation of treatment products through the WFH Humanitarian Aid program.
