New Global Policy and Access Summit keynote speakers announced

On September 8 and 9, 2021, the World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH) will host its first-ever Global Policy and Access Summit. This two-day event will offer participants many opportunities for learning about access to treatment and care around the world, effective strategies to improve access, and models of care delivery. This knowledge will be delivered by a number of experts in the field, all brought together online at the same time to share and discuss their learnings with other members of the global bleeding disorders community.

Mariângela Batista Galvão Simão, MD, Assistant Director General, Access to Medicines and Health Products, World Health Organization (Switzerland), will address universal health coverage (UHC) issues, WHO 2030 sustainable development goals, and the impact they have on the global bleeding disorders community during our opening plenary, “Current landscape of access to treatment & care globally”. Brian O’Mahony, Chief Executive Officer, Irish Haemophilia Society (Ireland) will headline an educational session with an overview of various procurement models.
