Yesterday’s session—“VWD, a closer look”—moderated by Dawn Rotellini, WFH Lay Member, covered von Willebrand disease (VWD) and its treatment options, psychosocial issues, perspectives and differences between men and women. It also looked at the VWD Group.
Paula James spoke about how VWD is perceived, while Jeanette Cesta covered the psychosocial issues related to the condition. Cody Kester shared the male patient perspective, including his personal experience, while Baiba Ziemele shared the female patient perspective and her own personal experience. The event ultimately looked at how VWD is perceived worldwide, and the difference in perspectives between those who suffer from it.
