On Thursday, Debra Pollard brought participants on an interesting journey through the world of gene therapy during the session “Gene therapy: the unfolding story”. This exciting potential treatment avenue for people with hemophilia (PWH) offers a tantalizing view to a potential cure—but it also presents many challenges. During the session, four PWH shared their experiences and thoughts on gene therapy with WFH Virtual Summit participants.
David Page, Garrett Hayes, Rob Schroeder, and Enrique Preza Hernandez discussed their experiences with gene therapy and explained why they made the choices they made. The group offered recommendations on how patients who are eligible for gene therapy can decide if the treatment is the right one for them.
