Program at a glance: WFH 2022 World Congress

As 2021 draws to a close, the World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH) and the Canadian Hemophilia Society (CHS) are both gearing up to bring you the WFH 2022 World Congress from May 8 to 11, 2022. This event—which will be the biggest for the bleeding disorders community next year—will cover the latest medical and multidisciplinary developments in our field. Our schedule has already taken shape, and we’re happy to now be able to share our program at-a glance for the WFH 2022 World Congress.

The medical program will include sessions on new therapies and non-factor therapy in hemophilia treatment; von Willebrand disease (VWD); and big picture initiatives. The multidisciplinary program—designed with the patient perspective in mind—will feature sessions on aging, pain management, and the impacts of changing treatment. Complimenting the Congress program are five professional track sessions in the fields of dentistry, laboratory sciences, musculoskeletal care, psychosocial care, and nursing. These sessions will bring together inspirational and insightful speakers from a variety of backgrounds and experiences.

For the third time in a major WFH event, the WFH 2022 World Congress will feature a track focusing on women and girls with bleeding disorders (WGBD). The enthusiasm is already building for this new track, which is designed to enhance the knowledge of healthcare practitioners (HCPs) treating WGBD. These sessions will address ways to improve awareness and improve treatment and care.

Rounding out the Congress program will be over 250 abstract presenters who will take part in free paper oral sessions, lightning round forums, and e-poster presentations.

We look forward to welcoming you to the WFH 2022 World Congress next year, and we are optimistic that we will be able to see you in person in Montreal.
