Naja Skouw-Rasmussen—who lives with Von Willebrand disease (VWD)—is a kite-surfing yoga practitioner who works with the Council of Volunteering in Copenhagen, Denmark.
When not braving the waves she helps civil society organizations develop their democratic and engagement capacity. Naja strongly supports the mandate of the WFH Humanitarian Aid Program to invest in education and other resources that will ensure patients have a bright future. She notes that, “You can give a person a fish and they will eat for one day, but if you teach them to fish they will feed themselves for a lifetime.”
